21 CBR members participated in the 4 week Pick Your Peak – Stair Challenge held by UBC Human Resources, aimed to improve cardiovascular health and promote a sustainable workplace.
5th Annual Norman Bethune Symposium
The symposium celebrated the persevering efforts of Dr. Bethune in pioneering an innovative mobile blood collection and distribution system in the 1930s. This year’s distinguished panel of speakers highlighted today’s challenges and breakthroughs in transfusion medicine.
CBR Members: Sun Run Fun 2016
The Vancouver Sun Run attracted 43,000 participants this past Sunday, April 17th, 2016. Among them, nineteen CBR members of all levels of fitness and preparation took on the 10 kilometer road race.
The CBR Rises to the Top in UBC 3 Minute Thesis Competition
Diana Canals from the CBR was victorious over other excellent contestants from many UBC Departments and won the second place at the UBC 3MT Finals! This is the first year that the CBR hosted a 3MT Heat.
Ideas Learned at CBR Postdoctoral Career Night
On March 2, 18 mentors and 60+ postdocs gathered to talk about careers in life sciences. A common theme of the PDF Career Night night was to find your own way by making the most of your strengths, combined with a mindset of flexibility and growth.
