Major Innovation in Regulatory Science Award to Dana Devine

Dana DevineDr. Dana Devine has been named as one of five awardees in the 2013 inaugural Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) for Innovation in Regulatory Science Award program.  The award of $500,000 was granted to her to support a research project entitled, ‘Refreshing the regulatory approach to ensuring the safety and efficacy of blood transfusion products‘.

BWF’s prestigious Innovation in Regulatory Science Awards provide up to $500,000 over five years to academic investigators who are addressing research questions that will lead to innovation in regulatory science, with ultimate translation of those results into improving the regulatory process. These awards are intended to provide support for academic researchers developing new methodologies or innovative approaches in regulatory science that will ultimately inform the regulatory decisions the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and others make.

We at the CBR wish Dana congratulations for this much-deserved honour!
