Each year, the Faculty of Medicine at UBC recognizes faculty and staff members for excellence in teaching, research, administration, innovation and public service. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jay Kizhakkedathu, an Associate Professor in the Dept of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and a longtime member of the CBR, has been awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award for Excellence in Basic Science Research. We at the CBR are not surprised that Jay has received this  prestigious award! He has made extraordinary progress in his work on polymers – seeking clinically relevant applications for his discoveries. He leads a wonderful group of enthusiastic and capable young scientists at the CBR within the Life Sciences Institute, and is always keen to collaborate within and beyond his discipline, searching for new knowledge.  Congratulations, Jay!!
