Health and Wellness Committee Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary!

By Julie Kora, Education Program Manager, CBR

The month of July marked the 1-year anniversary of the formation of the Health and Wellness Committee at the Centre for Blood Research (CBR)! The vision of the Health and Wellness Committee is to create an inclusive, supportive, and connected community by engaging in social and physical activities. In short, the Health and Wellness Committee works to promote work-life balance within the CBR, as well as a sense of camaraderie among the members of various labs spread across the UBC campus.

Over the past year, the Health and Wellness Committee has facilitated many fun and adventurous activities, including the CBR Amazing Race, Dragon Boating, Curling, touring the Museum of Anthropology, potlucks, holiday celebrations, TGIF nights, a CBR soccer league, and continuing the Health and Wellness Stars Challenge.

As we say goodbye to two of our members (Anna going on maternity leave, and Jenny heading to law school), the Health and Wellness Committee is recruiting new members! If you would like to join us, email Julie: julie.kora@ubc.ca.
