CBR Co-sponsors LSI-GSA Annual Research Day

The LSI-GSA is excited to present the Fifth Annual Research Day on Friday, March 11, 2011.  In the spirit of Celebrate Research Week at UBC, we have organized a great opportunity to showcase the cutting-edge research taking place at the LSI, build connections and collaborations and award the research achievements of graduate and undergraduate students within the building.  This year, unlike the past, will also include graduate student recruitment, by having undergraduate students present their research and having the chance to easily view the research of all research groups in the poster session.

The day will host opening and closing keynote speeches by two distinguished researchers: Dr. Robert A. Hegele (sponsored by the Diabetes Research Group) and Dr. William C. Aird (sponsored by the Centre for Blood Research). As well, all 8 research groups within the LSI will be represented in the morning trainee talks and afternoon poster session (by undergraduate and graduate students). This is a great chance for research groups to showcase their latest research and congratulate their students’ achievements.  Awards will be presented at an evening reception to the top undergraduate and junior and senior graduate students for both trainee talks and posters!

Graduate and undergraduate students can submit abstract forms for trainee talks or posters to lsigsa@zoology.ubc.caby the deadline: February 25th, 2011.
