Career Ask Me Anything (AMA) Café: Dr. Cyrus Eduljee

Thursday October 27, 2022 | 12 – 1PM PT

The Centre for Blood Research (CBR) is pleased to hold a Career “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) Café on Thursday Oct 27, 2022 from 12-1 pm PT, with Dr. Cyrus Eduljee, PhD – Associate Director, Portfolio Management, Canadian Blood Services.

He shared some insightful takeaways with our audience:

  • Do not underestimate your life sciences background! A strong scientific background is extremely beneficial for many positions in commercial, government and non-profit roles due to its highly specialized knowledge requirements.
  • The growth in scientific research and knowledge has created a commensurate increase in the roles and jobs needed to translate this knowledge into products, policies, and services that serve the public good.
  • The number and types of positions available to graduates outside of academia are dynamic and continue to evolve as new industries and applications are developed.

Dr. Eduljee oversees the Product and Portfolio Management team at Canadian Blood Services which reviews, recommends and oversees changes to the portfolio of blood products and services provided to Canadian blood banks and related providers. He studied at the University of British Columbia, receiving his BSc in 2000 as well as his PhD in 2006 following graduate studies in the Department of Physiology under the supervision of Dr. Steven J. Kehl. He has previously held the role of Scientist at Neuromed Pharmaceuticals before transitioning to business-related positions at STEMCELL Technologies, including Product Manager and Manager of Private Label and Distributed Products.
